Adoph Hitler :: essays research papers

The young years: Adoph Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 and lived in south Austria. He left for high school at the age of twelve and did poorly and never did finish. In 1903, his father died when Hitler was only fourteen years old. In 1907, Hitler decided to leave for Vienna to attend the Academy School of Fine Arts. Due to his unsatisfactory drawings, Hitler failed to be accepted. Soon after that, he received a letter from his sister informing him of his mother’s illness, cancer. Hitler headed back home to stay with his mother until the end. His mother died in the year of 1907, and Hitler tried again at the Academy School of Fine Arts. He was, again, rejected due to severe competition of acceptance. Hitler sold his paintings on the streets in order to survive. In August 1914, Hitler volunteered for the army. Later in his army career he received two of the most honorable awards, the first class iron cross. A man told Hitler of a rumor stating the Bavarian government is going to break away from Germany and join Austria. Outraged, Hitler gave many persuasive speeches on why the government shouldn’t break away. Later Hitler took over a group and renaming it NSADAP, which is infamously known as the Nazi party. Hitler tried taking over the Bavarian government by force. This invasion caused his imprisonment of five years, but he happened to be released after about six months. While in prison, he began writing his book Mein Kamph (My Struggle). When Hitler was released from prison, he quickly found out that the Nazi party membership has fallen drastically. The party was no longer allowed to have private and public meetings and Hitler could no longer speak in public. Hitler was determined to bring the Nazi party back together. The party began to grow slowly and in secret, and after the stock market crash hundreds and soon thousands joined each month due to the public rallies produced by Hitler. With his popularity growing at an outrageous speed, Hitler decided to take over the whole country. Before the elections, he launched a major propaganda campaign. He soon won a seat in the Reichstag, German congress. Hitler had a chance at becoming Chancellor, but was beat out by the previous Chancellor, Charles Bruning. Now the Nazi was official the second largest party in the country, next to the Communist.

Direct Marketing Memorandum

This memo is with regard to the current problem as to the proposed shift in marketing strategy for company products. As you have all been made aware, a recommendation was recently submitted to the Vice President for Marketing with the suggestion being to establish a direct-marketing system for the company in order to increase sales and productivity levels.Furthermore, the rationale behind this line of thinking was that a direct marketing model would better improve the company’s capability to reach out to customers directly, and being able to address their needs and wants quickly and efficiently. This however, is now being contested by some of the major retailer clients in our distribution network, especially since it is their perception that this will essentially lessen their own sales and marketing initiatives. Not only will it mean reduced orders and client patronizing on their end, it will also effectively deprive them of profits and financial sustainability. It becomes ther efore the position of this memo that a compromise must be arrived at, since the needs of both parties in this scenario must be taken into careful account. The new recommendation then is as follows: the establishment of a modified direct marketing system similar in nature to the model currently in use by Hewlett-Packard Corp.Instead of accepting orders on the company site and depriving retailers of their major function, decentralization to a certain degree will be done by forwarding all orders or requests on the site to the retailer systems for processing. While this model reduces outright profits on the part of the company, as opposed to the original direct marketing one, it would still retain the favor of the retailers in our distribution network, which basically amount to roughly 60% of all sales operations. This is believed to be the best option for the company to take given the current circumstances.

Political Philosophy And The Role It Plays Today - 1598 Words

WESTERN POLITICAL THOUGHT What is Political Philosophy? And the Role it Plays Today Savannah Dye 9/17/2015 â€Å"Political philosophy† and â€Å"political theory† are versatile, yet relative terms. Ironically, the most unifying aspect of both definitions is their fluidity. One of the only things that theorists concur on is the purpose of a political theory, which is to incite change to a certain degree. The intention of political theorists and political philosophers alike is to unveil the deeper problems in our world, and to emphasize the importance of contemplation as a catalyst for rectification. George H. Sabine indirectly defines political philosophy as â€Å"a study of the nature and well-being of civic societies†¦Ã¢â‚¬ Sabine explains†¦show more content†¦Second, â€Å"it contains statements of what may be roughly called a causal nature, to the effect that one kind of thing is more likely to happen, or may be easily brought about, than another (Sabine 6).† This part is emphasizing what the endgame of that particular situation more than likely w ill be if no action is taken in a different direction. The third and final part of this basic format that Sabine gives us â€Å"contains statements that something ought to happen or is the right and desirable thing to have happen (Sabine 6).† This is the normative portion of his explanation, and the most important part of a theory because it serves as a call to action. The philosopher visualizes a more advantageous outcome to the situation at hand, and they aim to alter the future with their ideas of a romanticized society. As far as psychological effects go, Sabine recognizes that passion is intrinsically alluring. Figuratively speaking, if you eliminate the logical portion of your theory, passion alone acts as an â€Å"effective short-cut (Sabine 8)† allowing one to bypass logic altogether. Rather than a theory, a philosopher could advocate an ideology which has proven to be just as effective in many cases. Leo Strauss very specifically distinguishes between â€Å"p olitical philosophy† and â€Å"political theory.† In his opinion, political theory isn’t as prestigious of a term as political philosophy, and shouldn’t be held to as high of a standard. Political philosophy predates political theory,
